Brampton Landscaping is committed to providing a website experience that is usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people who use assistive technologies or alternate input methods.
1. Our accessibility goal
We aim to design, maintain, and improve this website with the principles of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines in mind. Our current development target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This is a continuing goal, not a claim that every page or third-party feature has been formally certified.
WCAG organizes accessibility around four principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. More information is available from the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 and the Government of Ontario website accessibility guidance.
2. Measures built into the website
The theme and content system are designed to support:
- Semantic page structure and a consistent heading hierarchy
- A skip link that moves keyboard users directly to the main content
- Keyboard-operable navigation, menus, links, buttons, and disclosure components
- Visible keyboard focus and controls that are not intentionally hidden behind the sticky header
- Responsive layouts that reflow for phones, tablets, zoom, and narrower viewports
- Text alternatives for meaningful images and empty alternative text for decorative images
- Colour combinations selected for readable contrast
- Labels, instructions, error messaging, and sufficiently large controls for forms where supported
- Reduced animation for visitors who enable reduced-motion preferences
- Plain-language labels and consistent navigation
- No essential information conveyed by colour alone
3. Forms and quote requests
Website forms should provide visible labels, clear required-field indicators, keyboard access, understandable validation, and a confirmation after submission. Some form behaviour is provided by WPForms or other third-party components and can change when plugins are updated or reconfigured.
If a form cannot be completed because of an accessibility barrier, use the contact form if possible and describe the problem without including unnecessary sensitive information. If the contact form itself is the barrier, a support person may submit the request on your behalf with your permission.
4. Third-party content and known limitations
Some features may be provided by third parties, including forms, maps, embedded media, social content, analytics controls, downloadable documents, or linked municipal and supplier websites. We do not control every aspect of those services, but we will try to select accessible options, configure them responsibly, and provide an alternative when a barrier is identified.
Older content, uploaded documents, or newly added plugin features may not always meet the same standard as the current theme. Accessibility review is part of ongoing site maintenance.
5. Alternative formats and communication support
You may request website information in a reasonable alternative format or ask for communication support. Available options depend on the content and need, and may include plain text, a more accessible document, a telephone discussion when a public number becomes available, or assistance completing a form.
We will consult with the requester about a suitable format or support and provide it as soon as reasonably practicable. If a specific format cannot be supplied, we will explain why and work toward another useful option.
6. Accessibility feedback
Feedback helps identify barriers that automated testing can miss. Use the website contact form and include:
- The page address or name
- A description of the barrier
- The browser, device, or assistive technology involved, if you are comfortable sharing it
- The information or task you were trying to access
- Your preferred way to receive a response
Choose an accessibility-related subject where available or begin the message with “Accessibility feedback.” Personal information provided with feedback will be handled under the Privacy Policy and used to review the barrier and respond.
7. Ongoing review
Accessibility is reviewed as templates, content, navigation, forms, images, documents, and plugins change. Reviews may include keyboard testing, zoom and responsive checks, colour-contrast review, automated scans, and manual checks of important user journeys. Identified barriers are prioritized according to their effect on access and the practicality of correction.
8. This statement
This accessibility statement may be updated after material design, content, plugin, operator, or legal changes. The latest review date will appear at the top of the page.
